Car Upgrade

Car Upgrade is a driving game in two halves: first you drive, then you spend what you earned building the car up in the garage. The road is an endless run of dirt hills that get rougher the further you go, with launch ramps cut into them. The controls are fully analogue: press anywhere on the screen and a joystick appears right under your thumb — push right for throttle, push left to brake and reverse. There are no direction buttons anywhere. While you are in the air, moving your finger up and down lifts or drops the nose; land on the roof and the run ends there. Along the way there are gold coins, jerry cans and blue nitro bottles: coins fill your garage budget, cans top up the tank and stretch the run, nitro throws you forward for a few seconds. When the fuel runs dry the engine dies, the car rolls to a stop and the run is over — how far you got is your score. Then the garage opens: the engine pulls harder, tyres cut out wheelspin, suspension softens your landings, a bigger tank makes runs longer and nitro bottles push harder. Every part has five levels, and taking the tyres to level three visibly swaps the wheels on your car. Save enough and a blue sports coupe and an off-road pickup roll into the garage; each car has its own power, grip and suspension, and upgrades are tracked separately per car. Every sound is generated in the browser with no external files. Your best distance is saved, and after a run you can put your name on a local top-10 leaderboard. No internet needed, no ads; play with one finger on a phone or with the arrow keys on a computer, and it reads clearly in both dark and light themes.
